help: fuel/emission system issues
I have a '96 F150 and it sputters out just after starting it. It sounds like it has too much fuel in the combustion chamber, maybe a vacuum, egr valve, pcv valve, choking out (?) Fuel pressure regulator?
The last motor I worked on had a carbuerator, before fuel injection. The symptoms remind me of a flooded carbuerator. If I wait a few minutes I can restart the engine and it's smooth, but it sputters out again after a second or two running. It does NOT sound like it is misfiring at all.
Could it be a problem with the injection system?
Suggestions please? I welcome all input.
