I am hoping someone here can help me out, this is driving me nuts....

2002 Model
F150
4.6L Triton

Early last week one day my truck just wouldn't start.
I had driven it the day before. but that day nothing.
It would spin over just not start. the following day though, it started as always, no hesitation and run smooth.
But the was the last day it has ran.

Since then I have checked the relays and fuses.
I have checked the inertia switch (pass. side kick panel).
removed the cap on the schrader valve on the fuel rail. (no pressure)
I have sprayed starting fluid into the throttle body and it starts for 1 to 2 seconds. (dies once starting fluid is gone)
I have changed the fuel filter and pulled the bed and changed out the fuel pump.


I'm thinking about trying the fuel pressure regulator next


just not real sure where else to go if that doesn't work.....
Anyone have any ideas that may help, I'd sure love to hear any and all...

Update:

still no run.

Bench tested the fuel pump. it's good.

truck will run for as long as I spray contact cleaner in the intake tube.

have voltage at pump just not sure if it is proper voltage.

looking for a test for the ECM (or PCM)

Good ole fuel pump stuff. Well it is actually pretty simple in theory. Turn on key, fuel pump motor runs and pumps fuel to the fuel rail. simple right? But there is a catch. Is the pump even running??? If the pump is running what is its output pressure, It must be high enough for the system to operate properly, the fact that it can move fuel is not enough, needs to generate pressure. Can dead head check fuel pressure before it even gets to the fuel filter. Use a pressure gauge and pump fuel into the pressure gauge and see if you get any pressure like the pump is suppose to deliver. Should be at least 40 pounds or so. Now if it passes that test then you can start your troubleshooting problem which should be kind of easy once you know the pump works correctly. Trust me, a fuel pump that does not run smooth and deliver the correct pressure will drive you absolutely nuts, you may even want to buy a Toyota Tundra or something,.
