I was told by a Ford tech that my 2008, 5.4 liter engine was losing oil pressure and was essentially shot at 140,000 miles. The tech said that this is a fairly common occurrence with that years model if they were not taken care of properly when new. Does anyone else have this problem?

yes, I bought a 2005 one owner with 5.4with 141,000 which sounds good but later found out that he only serviced it properly while in warranty and had traded in on new f150. After buying it you start driving it like normal and find all its faults.I had everything. hard starting -flooding and smoked a big ball of blue smoke at times. poor gas mileage,(10avg) low power ,could not pass safely and was noisy compared to a 4.6 I used to have.the transmission slipped in reverse and did not want to upshift past 3rd. until it was fully warmed up. and was failing to get lock up with overdrive.the lower ball joints were shot and front brakes were worn out .and locking diff. was low on oil and had what it felt like ep.lube pumped in it and lots of metal shavings. mind you this truck was just state inspected just before I bought it.how to handle all this on limited budget. started by replacing worn out parts on front end and alignment.installed xado products in engine, transmission and LS 3.55 rear end. after 800 miles everything was operating great stopped using oil. much more power and gas milage rear end quiet and stopped popping. transmission took a little longer to cure all problems but is working very good. ps tail pipe white and vvt is working now. can kick down on it and pass something without fear. can burn rubber if needed on take off.I have tested this nano technoligy in other cars for over on 1.5 yrs and last for 100,000 kms.It works so well I started selling it myself.It won't fix broke but it sure does good on worn. .
