93 f150 xl dual fuel tank troublshooting

I have a 93 f150 4.9l l6. I had fuel pump issues with the rear tank. The truck was bucking on that tank only. So i dropped the tank and it was a full tank at that. I had thought the tank was empty because the gauge read empty as well.

I inspected the pump and it looked shot and possibly clogged. The sending unit had burn marks on the inside where the needle makes contact with the float.

I changed the pump, sending unit, gasket, retaining ring, fuel hose, and fuel filler neck and cap. So its basically all new right now.

I put about 10 bucks of fuel in the tank to see how it would run. Pump ran fine and primed up like it should. No more bucking on that rear tank while driving. My gas gauge is still pegged empty on that tank only.

Id like to assume the sending unit is good, that i just installed. In fact the old sending unit still read out proper resistance when i pulled it out. So I believe the old sending unit with burn marks was essentially still good.

So what should I do to troubleshoot this? Does this vehicle have a anti slosh module? Should I look at the gauge itself? Should I ground out the wires coming off the fuel pump connector?
