1999 Front Brake Rotors
Ok I'm an Idiot! I did not check to make sure I had the right Rotors and I installed a set of front rotors that were not anti lock application. I found out on the test drive when the ABS light came on. I looked over the old rotor and found that they had a "ribbed" disk attached to the rear or the Hub, I was able to remove this. I assume this is what the sensor rides close to to work correctly.
I was wondering if that was the only difference between them and the new ones I installed. If so , can I just put these disks on the new rotors ? Also what would be the problem of leaving the new rotors on as is, the brakes work fine, I mean the truck stops fine and I feel no vibration, put the ABS light does remain on. Thanks for any assistance, my first time to inquire on this site. :sad2: |
I am sure putting them in the right places is required. In the long run it can cause damage and possible brake failures too.
