I have 2000 F150 2 wheel drive super cab with 160k and a 4.6 that is shot. (KBB approx 3700 if running) I am having a hard time finding an exact replacement motor under 1500. I have found a 2000 F150 4x4 super cab 4.6 with 98k on it that has been rolled and engine is an exact replacement (KBB approx 6800 if it wasn't wrecked) entire cab and bed is totaled except 1 door glass and tailgate. I am trying to work a deal to get the whole truck then I would have the option of changing motors or if the frame on the 4x4 is good then I would possibly swap the cab and bed. Common sense tells me to swap the cab and bed because of the higher value of the 4x4 truck. Any good construtive suggestions as to which change out would be easier?

 

yeah if the frame is fine look into swaping it over. check to make sure the 4wd driveline is good too. it would actually be easier taking the motor out since you would be stripping it down. if its something you can handle, why not?
