2002 f150 shuts off

Engine shut off while driving. Would not restart. The next day it restarted. After it was turned off would not resart. Waited about 8 hours and it restarted. It is 4.6.

Could be couple of different things, Did the engine light come on, did it stay on? Might take it to Autozone or O'Reilys and get the ODB read ti see if the truck threw any codes. That would be a good place to start on finding a solution to the problem.

That was checked there was no codesd stored. The theft light is blinking no check engine light.

I'm assuming you're talking about the left turn signal light in the dash. With that happening and your vehicle shutting down, I suspect you have an electrical problem. Check your grounds first between the motor and the chassis, then the battery to chassis and then the grounds when running. Electrical problems are a PIA to shake down.

The T H E F T light. It has a anti theft system factory insalled. I guess it uses the chip in the key to start. Both factory keys do same thing.

THEFT...I get it now. Sometimes my dyslexia and being too quick to read gets the better of me.

Use some electronic spray cleaner and clean the ignition switch by spraying the key hole. Clean the keys off also with the spray. Try that. If that doesn't work then you have something hay wire with the anti-theft system.
