rad support replacement: 97 xl 2wd

hey ive got a 97 xl and my rad support is rusted out, my question is would the rad suport from my 2000 parts truck interchange with it?

also ive been told i can unbolt the whole front inner fender and rad support from the truck, is this true? because if i can ill just replace the whole innerfender/rad support assembly.

The radiator support from a 2000 will not work in a 97 without considerable re-work. You would be better off to go to a bone yard and find a 97 and take the whole front clip which I believe is all bolted on.

okay thank you. that kinda sucks but oh well. will the front clip from the 200 bolt on to my 97?

Nope...all you have to do is go out and compare the two and you'll see the difference.

okay cool

I find it hard to believe it wont work. If a fender from a 2000 expedition bolts up to a 97 f150, and 2k 150 should bolt to a 97 150. Just sayin. If ya got it layin there as a part truck, go for it. It SHOULD work. The only huge difference there could be, is if the 97 is a 7/96 date. Then the Header Panel that holds the head lights and such will be different.

okay thank you. can you confirm that the front clip does unbolt from the cab?

I am not sure on that one. I'll look into it. The most i've heard about front clips changing is just the header panel, and other body panels. I'll get back to you on that.
