Hey guys I have a 97 xlt with the v6. It's been running pretty good with a random rough idle at start up. But now has become constant. When i start it up the idle goes up the drops to 2-3 rpm and dies, but if I get it it in gear and start moving without it dying out it seems to run fine. What could this be? It's the wife's truck and well you know what that means! FIX IT NOW! Lol any help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Have you checked spark plugs and fuel filter?

 

Could be a vacum leak too.

 

Sounds like issue I had with fuel pump.
