Default Used truck woes, Lug nut sizes.

OK so here is why i don't buy used vehicles from private people.
I bought a 98 f150 v8 4.6 and have had it like a project vehicle. I ran into a new problem. The previous owner decided to put 2004 f150 17 inch 5 lug aluminum rims and i believe they used the wrong lug nuts. I can find the right ones for it. I was trying to find a best fit but this is seeming a bit out of the realm of possibility. Any thoughts on how to work this out? I was thinking about getting new lug bolts to accommodate the different rims but I am not sure this is possible. Any advice would be most helpful.https://www.f150-forums.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

I would relug the wheel assembly, get different ones from a bone yard or by new ones if you afford it

Sorry for my limited knowledge, Do you mean to get bigger size lug bolts for the rim and put them on the wheel assembly?

If you can't find the lug nuts that will work on your wheel studs you may need to replace the studs and get lug nuts that fit the studs, or get new wheel assemblies.
