Default 2008 fx4, rear end shakes and makes a grunting noise. I NEED SOME HELP

I have a 2008 f150 fx4 supercab, it is in great condiotion with only 63,xxx on it. yesterday me and my wife went on a hiking trip. when we went to park the truck, and slowed down to around 5mph, the rear end made a really weird noise, and at first we were both shocked and thought that couldnt have been the truck. then when i would accelerate it went away, i would let off the gas, it would do it again. worried to death, we went ahead and went on our little hike, came back and the truck didnt do it at all. we made it just about all the way home and then it did it again? i pulled through a parking lot after that to see if i could hear what it was, it seemed like it would do it worse if i was turning. then i put the vehicle in 4x4 and it did it worse when i put it in 4x4. can i please get some serious help and answers please!!

Sounds like it might be your auto hub locks, transfer case, differential or U-Joints. You'll need to get under the truck and check the u-joints for slop or wear and then work out to the differential and then the transfer case.

Jack the truck up and check to see that the front wheel hubs are locked up. In park and with your front wheels of the ground, they should spin freely.

i checked the ujoints and they looked fine. i will definately jack it up and see if my front wheels spin freely.. i drove it today and it was just fine. i have read some blogs on here they say my wheel might just be getting hot and it may be doing that because of the that. is that true? im a pretty worried. i jerked on the driveshaft to and nothing moved there either.

Heat can cause thing to expand and expanding metal can drag or bind. When you jack the wheels up, grab the tire and see if it wiggles from side to side or top and bottom. You may have a wheel bearing that needs to be repaclace.
