2004 F150 - wont pass inspection comp. problem ?
 
i live in massachusetts and my 04 f 150 will not pass inspection the obd says its ready but it will not allow the inspection machine go any further it says system is not ready no engine codes coming up and engine light works but not on i had it tested 2 times about 4000 miles apart anyone ever had this problem thanks scott...

There is a communication error in your system. Take it to a dealer and see if they can figure out which module is out or which data link is down. it might be an easy fix.

Try resetting the PCM by disconnecting the negative battery cable, and touching it to the positive terminal for a few seconds. Keep in mind that the emissions OBDII test will detect this reset, and you have to go through a number of start - run cycles before the reset is "reset".

try disconnect both battery terminals for 15 minutes wich should clear your computer. make sure all acessories in cab of truck is off. hook up battery terminals then just turn key one click forward for 2 sec then start truck do not touch gas peddal or any thig else let idle for about 15 min. this will clear computer then relearn its self.
