5.4L 3v Camshaft Phaser Knock Noise Fix

In this video I go over in detail the procedure to swap out the Cam Phaser to get rid of that annoying knocking noise at idle! It is easier than you think. The procedure is the same for all 4.6l and 5.4l 3valve engines.

More Information on what is causing all of this.

I I have a 2005 F150 with what I thought was a cam phaser tick. After talking with a mechanic who has locked out lots of cam phasers I was informed that the tick tick tick will not to go away If I lock out the phasers. No codes are or have been thrown, no vibrations, just a constant repetitive tick tick tick that started almost from new until now - 95,000 KM. noise is not temperature dependent nor did it change when I made changes in oil viscosity. 5W20, 1W30 and 20W50. I tried adding 1.3 L of transmission fluid to a full crank case of oil, drove for one week and changed back to 5W20. No changes in the tick!
In order to try and eliminate the noise and properly diagnose the noise should I be trying to test the variable valve solenoid's, sending units, and fuel injectors.?
Or should I just try adding 3 L of Varsol to the full crank case of oil then let "idle" for 20 minutes ( then change back to 5W 20 oil).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to properly diagnose the tick and / or eliminate it ? Should I try the varsol flush since as I understand it most of these ticks are caused by too few oil changes?
:bang:Thanks in advance.

Cam phaser tick or valve train noise?

Thanks.
I will try an engine flush ( like BG ) with lots of detergent & lube while alternate rpm above 1200 ( to move cam phaser pin ) and below 700 ( to clean VCTSolinoid ). Then try the disconnect test for the VCTS. I will also put a manual oil pressure gauge on sending unit site and hope for > 15 psi.
