Made an appointment for spark plugs
 

Well, after reading on here and being the truck is at 73K, I figured I should probably get the spark plugs changed while home.. Called three different ford dealerships for quotes, 1 place said that it would be atleast 500 and they recommend a fuel injector service first which was another 120. The other place just did not seem very confident, and the 3rd was the charm. She was very blunt, said they are a pain in the ass, BUT she has 3 technicians that always do them, and are very confident. Quoted me 475, and said that if i bring it in the night before and let them soak them, then 98% of the time they dont break. She also said that if they do break one or two, they will most likely just stay at the quote and not charge me anymore!

So the truck goes into the shop on the 16th to get the KM2s mounted, then up to the city that night for new plugs on the 17th.. For me, 477 isnt all that bad at all, expecially since she said they would do a free inspection on the truck to make sure everything esle is good!

Sounds like they know what they are doing. I still can't believe places charge that much to change spark plugs.

I respect a dealer that comes right out and tells it like it is, but then stands behind their work and quote. Excellent choice in my opinion!

The dealer charges $25 a piece for the plugs. You can get the same plug from O'Reileys for $7.90. Ask the dealer what will the cost be
if you bring your own plugs. And B.T.W, the correct P/N is SP-515 (Motorcraft).

I got my plugs from Advance, you can find a lot of online coupons on www.retailmenot.com. I saved around 40% off my order, got them for under $45 bucks

Oriellys has the SP-515 for $7.99, at least when I punch in my zip code. Better than the $20+ each that the dealer wanted.

Maybe I'll pick some up, I don't know. I really don't want to mess with them but I don't want to prolong it either. lol

Trent did you, or someone else have an extractor tool?
