Looking for advice on a truck purchase
I'm looking into buying this 07 F-150 with a 5.4L, 19,000 miles, chrome pkg, etc. So I know about the spark plug problem on these trucks but know someone who owns the extracting tool, so I'm not terribly worried about it. I also climbed underneath and checked the driveshaft for the goofy pressed in u-joints that you have to grind out or buy a new driveshaft, and it has the regular u-joints with the clips on it.
I drove it over the weekend and liked it a lot. Everything felt real smooth, no shakes up to 95mph. The only thing that happened was the CEL came on when I first punched it on the onramp. It blinked a few times, then went off. There was a small misfire feeling until it went off. I took it back and my Dad, who is the purchaser/used car manager at EVS, said that they powerwashed the engine for pics and most likely soaked the coil pack. So now he is putting a new one in, and then I will be driving it for a week or so to really make up my mind.
My question is what else should I be looking out for when purchasing this truck? I have pretty good knowledge around a motor and just need to know what to expect from it.
