Steering issue 2004 f150

Hey! I was driving for a couple of hours 3 days ago at highway speed , next day I start the truck and back out of driveway, I notice a resistance in the steering, but in spots, like off and on as I turn the steering wheel, after awhile it warmed up, ( cold here)' and I noticed a lot less restriction , I checked the fluid, it's full, it looks clean from what I grey on my finger, and I'm leaning towards bleeding but not sure if that is the problem,
I never had a pump act like this so I'm asking for any advice or experience you might have, thanks brian. Oh and this is only 2 wheel drive, belt also looks and feels good
Thanks

Sounds like the pump is going out. The fluid viscosity, when cold, is too thick for the pump. This is why it works better when warmed up.

Thanks Kevin , I'm gonna look into it more this coming week, I priced out pumps, online so I don't see a problem there except the wait thanks again

Sounds like exactly what happened to my truck a couple years ago. I had to replace the shaft that connects the steering wheel to the rack. The on and off is the universal joints in that shaft binding as it turns. Check that steering shaft and see if it is all rusty. Beats the hell out of replacing a rack and pinion

Well guess what!!! Lol. It's the shaft! Exactly what you had happen to you Canadian screw,
It's under warranty so it's being fixed now,
