Warn hidden winch mount

i found this setup scrolling through the 4 wheel parts website which cought my eye. It looks like a great kit. But the problem is i can't find it for the 04-08 body styles. Does anyone know if they make them for the 04-08 year model or is there a write up anywhere explaining how to make one?

There is a fair amount of room back there. I bet if you use a winch with a different configuration (box on top mounted remotely) you could fabricate a mount, and get a fairly good sized winch behind the bumper.

Otherwise I really like using a front receiver behind the bumper, with a removable winch. That way you can run quick disconnect cables front and back and winch either direction. You aren't hauling around the extra weight on the front end when you don't need to, it's not exposed to the elements when it doesn't need to be. You can mount it on another rig if you had to, the receiver can be used as a snatch point, lift point, tow point to back a trailer, you can stick a rack up front, etc. Much more useful overall IMO.

Yeah I wish I had a welder and skills, I would have fabbed up a receiver hidden in the lower valance opening. Then just used a winch receiver plate so it could be swapped front and rear.

That's a great point Brian. I'm glad you posted that. That just changed my mind completely about the hidden winch mount. I'll go for the front receiver. I've got a welder and all that at my house so i'm gonna jump on that when i find the time.
