What next?

Ok, so as most of you know, while on R&R the past two weeks I was able to get the KM2s installed and the Gryphon CS installed as well. Everyone that I talk to says my truck looks amazing, and how much they love the way it sits.

Ok, I love the truck too, and i LIKE the way it sits, but I do want a little more height, but after seeing the truck with 35's and just the LK, i think the 35's will look small after a 6" lift..

Gas mileage isnt TOO bad, granted it sucks balls in the town and city, but on the highway im getting anywheres from 16-20 (according to the CS) which isnt too bad.. BUT, i would like to get the power back, so gears are on the list of to-do.

My exhaust needs replaced bad, the tips are going to rust off pretty soon i am sure, and i know there is an exhaust leak somewheres, so thats also on the to-do list..

SO, the list so far:

- Exhaust (not sure what I want to go with, any input? i want a nice, deep, loud tone)
- Gears/lockers (not sure if i want to go with lockers front AND rear or just rear..)

- Lift (4" or 6")

- Wheels (i like how the stock wheels look, but i want the tires to stick out a tad more.. )

- Buckstop front bumper(prob. will look goofy without a lift?)

SO what do you guys think? What should I go with first? I will be driving the truck from Iowa to florida in July sometime, so that makes me lean towards getting the gears first, but I would love a new exhaust and some more lift as well... HMMMM... lol

For exhaust do you want just a bolt-on kit or just pick a muffler and have a shop install it?

God,Country,FORD 03-03-2011 02:20 PM

Trent- not sure.. I know I LOVE the sound clips i have heard with maggie high flow cats straight back.. but i have heard the Roush offroad in person and it was AMAZING lol. I know i want louder and deaper than the flowmasters i have now..

Trent 03-03-2011 02:36 PM

Yeah I was going to suggest the Roush

God,Country,FORD 03-03-2011 02:45 PM

yeah. just hope its a whole hell of a lot moer durable then the flowmaster POS. you think putting maggie high flows on would help at all too?

Trent 03-03-2011 03:32 PM

I doubt it would hurt anything to put them on

The roush is probably the same as the flowmaster, for durability I would go with a stainless muffler so you don't have to worry as much about it rusting.

I was never a fan for kits until I got my Banks. I loved that thing and it was so easy to install.

zabeard 03-03-2011 07:19 PM

You can keep debating but I still say Rancho!!

God,Country,FORD 03-04-2011 12:07 AM

lol Zach, after seeing what my truck looks like with just the LK and 35's I think the Rancho will look the best. and I still love your old truck:) and the banks is just a single tip right? Hmmm.. I dont know what to do. I want Loud, and deep.. the Roush is louder than the flowmasters or atleast the truck I heard was. hmmm

zabeard 03-08-2011 10:43 AM

Banks is single tip just deep sounding and not overly loud.

Thanks James. I really miss the 150. :(

anytime zach.. I got an offer from a jeep dealership in florida to trade int he F150 on a 08 or 09(i cant remember which) 4 door wrangler sahara straight across, but the wrangler had 80K miles, and my truck has just over 70K, and there was Rubicon as well, but that would have put me dam near 5K in the hole lol.

I was tempted, but i love my truck waaayyy too much.. But everytime i see a lifted/modded 4 door wrangler i have to sit and stare lol.

Here's one I wouldn't mind having:

It's a brand new 2011 with 244 miles.

Trent 03-09-2011 02:17 PM

I love that color. This is probably what I'll be going after:

you guys are killing me! I almost want to trade the truck in on a jeep now! lol.

zabeard 03-16-2011 10:38 AM

Jeep = Heep

Ill pass. Its just a D30

God,Country,FORD 03-17-2011 05:00 AM

haha they are money pits. more so than my truck! and the rubicons have d44's front and back, electronic front sway bar disconects, front and rear lockers. etc. BUT my truck is my truck and everytime i look at pics of her, i fall in love a little more haha.. I might buy an old tj in a few years to use as a toy, but the truck isnt going anywhere.. unless gas gets to 5 bucks a gallon. then she really wont be going anywhere! lol. ill be riding a bike to work
