I have broken the exterior driver-side mirror on my 2013 F150XLT. It appears that only the major mirror is broken, i.e., the convex mirror is intact, the movement mechanism behind the big mirror is still functional, and the turn signal lights work.

The plastic housing immediately around the turn signal lights is cracked.

A Ford dealer has quoted me $700+/- to replace the entire mirror assembly, and $450+/- to replace just the mirror. Needless to say, I do not wish to spend this kind of money, but do need to have a functional mirror.

Any suggestions-ranging from a DIY approach to a repair shop-will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your responses.
