Default Fixing steering wheel grip

Lacing steering wheel on my 91 f150. Now I know why nobody wants to do it. Spent 3 hrs. lacing the first half of the wheel. I beleive it's all in the soking in water. Next time I'll buy the new replacment steering wheel.
