Towing Weight

So, I'm looking for a trailer or towing system for my bikes. I was thinking about a utility trailer so that I can use it for stuff and hauling bikes when need be, or one of these.

The motorcycle towing cradle is a neat idea and I would have no problem towing the VTX1800. But, the Gold Wing slips into the questionable weight range with a curb weight of about 970 lbs. The tongue weight on the hitch would be half that, and would be fine. The question is that the cradle is rated to 700lbs. As much as I like this cradle....I'm thinking I would be taking a huge risk.

Your thoughts?

just my opinion, i think you would be better of with a small utility trailer for your goldwing.

I don't like the look of that cradle for some reason. My vote would go to a utility trailer. Then it serves more than one purpose, probably for similar money too

Yeah... I don't think I would tow any bike that way. A decent open trailer isn't that much more, and would be so much safer and more useful.

Thanks guys! Heard ya loud and clear on going with a utility trailer. I was heading that direction, just needed a push! :)

Haha, no way. I think that has already been established though.
