Default XM Radio

Just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureaus against XM Radio on their no service customer service as well as their bait and switch selling tactics.

I paid for a lifetime subscription on my Goldwing and was told I could add Traffic and Weather at a later date. The later date has arrived and now I'm told that I cant add anything to a lifetime subscription - which apparently does not include added services such as traffic, weather, etc. So, I figured I would cancel the subscription and re-up with a new one that included the weather and traffic. I was told I could do that, but the $750 I paid for a lifetime subscription is non-refundable and I would loose it then need to pay for a new subscription. Eff you XM!

Dang, $750! I paid $300 for lifetime Sirius and I thought that is expensive.

I think they both have sliding scales based on what day of the week it is and whatever quota the salesperson needs to make.

WOW sorry to hear that. I hope it works out but I bet it won't. Big business and the little guy.

Friggen XM. $750 is retarded pricey, I am not sure I would pop for that. Heck, $300/350 seems cheap beside XM, almost makes me feel like im getting a deal. lol

Anyhow, no surprise Kevin. You could add it anyways?

UPDATE -

XM Corporate Relations called me today and has miraculously found a way to make their system meet my requests. My lifetime subscription is untouched and I will not loose any money. For $8 more a month, I will get both Traffic and Weather and can discontinue it at anytime without compromising my lifetime subscription.

It does pay to escalate your complaints until you get resolution.

Consumer 1 vs. Corporate 0
