Hey, this is my first post so sorry if I make a mistake. I have a 91 f-150 with the 4.9 and e40d tranny. My truck currently has 66k on it and I'm looking to do a trans fluid change. The only problem is this truck has never had a trans fluid change and am trying to gather opinions on if it would be better to not mess with it, or go ahead and drop the pan and drain the torque converter.
PS: The fluid does not look burnt, it's just dirty. The truck shifts hard every once in a while, mainly when you baby it.

Yes change the fluid,, filter.
Drain the torque converter.
Drop the pan...

 

Thanks better late then never, I've been holding off but I'm going to have to drop the pan anyways because its leaking but thanks anyways!
