Default Which Speakers?

Hey everyone. Apparantly the speakers in my truck are starting to cut out and sounds like crap according to fiance, so new speakers are in order. I am looking at rockford fosgate PRIME 6X8s right now, some good reviews..

What do you all suggest? I have the factory audiophile 6 disc, dont plan on changing it out anytime soon.. Stock sub as well.

Listen to Rap, Hip hop, rock and country.

thanks!

The first thing I did with my truck when I got it, was to install Boston Acoustic SC85 full range speakers. They sounded great on the stock system and since then I've upgraded to a Pioneer system that has four times the wattage output over stock - still sounds awesome!

Stupid question, but I'm guessing all around they are 6x8s? Also, I haven't done much research on this trucks sound system. Is it worth keeping the stock sub, or should I just scrap it all and put in a custom set up?

Infinity Kappas are very nice. That's what I have in the front. Have Memphis Power Reference in the rear and they're nice too. Really it boils down to what you want to spend. Both of the speaker pairs I mentioned have adjustable tweeters.

Infinity Kappas are great. I had Infinity Reference speakers in my Ranger and they sounded very good for the money too.

I Know they are not the best out there but I have been running Pioneer 6x8s in 3way or 4way since 01, They always sound great and last. I pulled the last set out of my ranger and put them in my F250 still sound awesome. Plus they hold up to the elements of sand, snow, mud, rain, water you name it. They work great for me and are cost effective.

thanks for the comments and suggestions guys! and Sean, if the stock sub still works keep it unless you want more bass. i just want to keep it simple yet sound good so i will prob. keep it! Im still not sure if the speakers are the culpret though because she said if she moves the seat around then the speakers will work, or if she turns the sound way up the speakers will come back on lol. Ya my back passenger side cuts out, hasn't for awhile now though, been meaning to check the connections on it, but it stops working for half a day then works for a week or more so then I forget about it.

Sounds like a short or loose wire. My stock speakers would pop.

yeah, i dont know what the hell is going on.. The wiring looks aftermarket on the truck, took it to the ford dealership and they said it is for sure aftermarket, so I dont know, could just be a connection. .
