1985 F150 5.0 short bed
Hi Everyone!
I bought a truck (described on title) quite a while ago. My intention was/is to restore/improve the truck as a whole.
I bought along with it a T5 transmission from a mustang '86 5 speed that used to be coupled with a 5.0 engine.
I retrieved an engine from a 1994 flare side truck at the local Pull-A-Part that seemed to be in very decent condition. No leaks, no cracks, no rust... it does not even have leaks from seals (heads, tail and tip AKA camshaft seals)
My idea is to trim the fat from the 1994 engine and have it readyu and coupled with the T5.
Has anyone ever done something like this? similar?
My first question would be. Would I run into issues with the blocks being too different?
if not
What would y'all recommend I do to that engine? since it is out and can manage it easier
I am sure more questions will come up along the project.
I don't really want a racing truck. I just want a VERY NICE, SUPER EFFICIENT, ABLE-TO-SCARE-A-MICKEY-MOUSE-MUSTANG-IF-NEEDED F150 TRUCK!!
THANKS in advance for your tips!
