I have a 1988 F150 with 5.0L engine, 2WD, AOD transmission, and cruise control.

My horn and cruise control both have stopped working, and I've discovered that a two-way and possibly a three-way short has occurred between the heavy-gauge sheet metal cone and the two non-ground connections under the steering wheel cover. I've examined the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual, and it looks like I need to do some diagnostics involving the horn relay and the cruise control amplifier.

Does anyone know where these two things are located?

 

does it have air bag? is the air bag light flashing? you need a clock spring, you have to pull the wheel to swap it with a new one, i got one at napa online about 70 bux, when this part fails no horn, no cruise and no air bag

 

Hello I hope I am posting in the correct section. I have been asked to do some repair work for a friend on a 88 F150. Someone tried to hook up either an alarm or a radio and really did a number on the wiring under the dash of this truck. My question is, can anyone refer me to a wiring schematic diagram I can go off of and ensure all is correct before I go any further with this job? Any help would be appreciated. Nice looking truck she picked up cheap and wants to surprise her son with it as a gift. She hopes she can give it to him running. Thanks in advance for any info.
