Default 9" Lift - Exhaust problems?

I just bought a 1989 F150 and it's got 9" lift on it.

3" Body - 6" Suspension.

The previous owner had flowmasters but supposedly "cut" the pipes right before the bed because with the lift, the pipes couldn't go all the way back.

And as it sounds now, it's way too loud.

Could a lift really mess with pipes?

Cause I don't wanna lower it, I like the 9" but would I sti be able to put dual exhausts on it?

Thanks

You shorten the pipes, it brings the 'noise' closer to the cab. You need to lengthen the pipes or add in a resonator or a different muffle to quiet it down.
