ok short version, going to swap out the smogger 302 for a mild 351, a reman with .030 over pistons and a 10/10 crank, and going to go with a mild cam for towing...
now the questions i have are.
(1)Oregon , how much smog crap can i get away with deleting
(2) who makes a better than ford stock intake
(3) is there a bracket / idler pully for deleting the a/c
(4)who makes good quality headers as afar as good thick flanges and so on,
I am not building a race monster, I am not building a hot rod, I will tow a boat, i will tow a camper, I hunt in the desert and coast mountains of oregon and need my truck to run well and be reliable.
A little more about the truck I am running 12.5/33/15's on it on stock rims, yes they rub ...its on the list it is otherwise stock no lift
i am hoping to put a simple 2' lift on it and upgrade my wheels to help with rubbing..( a little extra backspacing) paint is ford stock and toast so I am going bedliner to top of fenders , deleting the chrome strip and gunmetal grey for fenders up(two tone blue and kinda some grey left on it ) right now.. I have nerf bars but they are not on it yet, and I have the tubing/steel for fabbing new bumpers, but I am not sure, I hate to add the weight.
so, yes I am like most of you, big plans and small budget, I know what I want... just need to locate the right parts to make it all come together.
