My truck's engine died....
Last summer my '94 XLT longbed with a 300 six and 5 speed died when excess blowby caused the PCV valve to pop out and a small crack in my exhaust manifold sparked a fire and burned a small portion of the fuel rail and part of the engine harness. So now I have my excuse to do an engine swap.
Two weeks ago, I found a gentleman who's into restoring OBS Ford trucks and he had a 351 out of a '95 F250 which he sold for $750, complete with the alternator, power steering pump, smog pump, and ac compressor. I've also gotten a reman ECU for the 351 manual trans combo, as well as a 28 oz flywheel and clutch kit and plan to mate it to my 5 speed. The other items that were thrown in the deal were the engine perches, engine bay harness, radiator, y-pipe, intake hoses and airbox. Now if only the weather would start getting warmer....
