2000 Ford F150 4x4 5.4L *** loss/lack of power*** PROBLEM SOLVED
**** PROBLEM SOLVED ****
I have a 2000 f150 5.4L 4x4 has no power on take off or when i gets warm What i have done to try and fix ill start with the beginning
Ok so since it has no power i changed the front and rear gears to 4:10 still no power changed the coil packs spark plugs changed the cams to stage 3 comp cams added new timming assembly while apart still nothing i ended up going as far as ripping the motor out and rebuilding it still nothing and trust me im a die hard ford man so i was “was” on the urge of an LS swap but its not a ford if i would have done the swap and myself F@&k Chevy anyways i was outa options plus my wife said enough is enough buy a new truck but im a stubbern *** so i came across a post (buy the way ive been trying to fix the issue for about a year) so the post i came accross was about the ECU on updating it well ford only goes back 10 years so dead end there look around my town nothing (go figure california for ya) so i for a site onnthe web to order a referbished ecu it was 230$ but i had to get my key reprogramed for the new ecu posably and that another 80$ Thats another 310$ and with everything ive put into it tryingbto fix it totaled out to about 3000$ well the post a came accross was a guy talking about the superchip flash pac F5 well i was at my ropes end told my wife i promise if this programer dont fix it ill send it back sell the truck and buy a new one
Well i got the programer in tuned it to a standered proformance tune thats all ive done so far and i you not it fixed the issue and with all ive done to it i now have so mich more power shifts better runs better over all it fixed the issue and then some
So moral tobthe story is if you f150 is lagging on power (no *****) either order a referbished ECU or spend the 403$ and buy a superchip flash pac 5 and like i said all i did with it was update the ecu and tune it to a performance tune now it runs like a new truck amazing
I realy hope this helps someone else befor they get a devorce over spending there retirement on there f150 (im still married)😜 if you need anymore info just message me
