I am totally unfamiliar with the gearing on F-150 but I am looking to buy a used truck 1997-2008. A big factor will be the option of a locking differential.


First of all, is there a code to i.d the component as there is in GM product found in the glove box? Or is it a driver activated mechanism which would tell me upfront that the locker exists?

I sure appreciate any insight you guys/gals could give me.
