F150 General Questions
Good afternoon, I am interested in purchasing an F150. It would be a DD, however, I work from home so I don't drive often but I do take a lot of out of state trips and I would rarely tow anything with it. I need a truck about 10 times a year and I'm tired of borrowing or renting one. I've read online what years to avoid and what years are the best and they seem to overlap each other. Other than just getting lucky, what do you all recommend from 2009 to 2021? Is a N/A V8 better than any of the V6 options? With proper maintenance, do turbos and the electronics on the engines for V6s generally do well after 100,000 miles, 150,000 and more? Are trucks with a lot of options worth it after 10 plus years or does everything start breaking down and cost too much to repair/replace? I've read some stories on GM and Dodge where one thing would go out and it would effect a completely unrelated area simply because it was controlled by the same computer or multiple computers were linked and somehow messed up something else. I love the options Ford has but if all the bells and whistles don't last long, I'm fine with a lesser equipped model. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
