Guys have anybody noticed that there truck with remote start idles different until you put the key in. I have a 2012 F150 with a 5.0 engine. Maybe this is normal. I start my truck from the house and when I walk in my shop the engine idle a little rough until I put the key in the switch and turn it on then the engine is smooth as glass...

 

Never noticed this. Is your remote start factory installed? I use a factory installed remote start with a 5.4L and it idles fine.

 

Yes it is factory installed if you are not paying close attention you will not notice it.

Have you asked your local dealer if this is common? Never experienced this myself, but then I have never used it on a cold start.
