Default 351 in my 02?

So my 5.4 liter has timing chain noise on cold morning starts. My delimma is to either change the timing chains and guides when it get worse, or run it till it blows up and put a built 351w with a five speed behind it, either carbed or efi. Anyone know of a newer truck with a swap like this? I'm not looking at this for the next year or next few years possibly. Just lookin at future projects

What kind of oil filter are you using? Some oil filters (like Fram) don't have a good anti-drainback valve, causing noise on cold starts.

I swap between wix and motorcraft. I don't trust any other filter, and sometimes my customers don't understand that. They always want cheap and I refuse to put it.

Wix/motorcraft filter and motorcraft oil every 3,000

I highly doubt anything will happen to the motor anytime soon, but i just like to think about future projects.

You are using good filters!
