Kevin, you are missing some basic properties of physics, hopefully these links will
help you:


First, here is a good explanation for the relationship of air velocity, and cooling of an electronic component. This applies directly to the MAF sensor element:

When a MAF sensor element is coated with a contaminant, or dirt, it will no longer cool properly from the air passing across it, measuring a lower than
actual air flow.

I've had a K&N in my Ranger since it was new 2007. Zero problems.
Weird how that happens when you take care of something per manufacturer's directions nothing adverse happens. Thorough cleaning and a LIGHT oil.

Forget about cold air intake junk get a supercharger forced induction is where it is at 15lbs boost.
