Default Gryphon CS Power Programmer - Should I buy One?

Hey everyone, well after talking with the Fiance yesterday for almost 2 hours on the phone, we decided that I need to wait to get the Rancho for the truck since we need to start buying stuff for the wedding in November. But she did say that we could swing the Gryphon as long as it is under 500.. SO, im looking at the CS, what do you guys think? The CTS is super nice but a little more pricey, althought it would be cool to have..

Also what tunes do you think I should have them make? My truck is pretty much stock except for the GOTTS mod and a flowmaster dual setup. Will be getting 35's on here pretty soon as well.. OR should I just go with the 'canned' tunes?

thanks everyone!

My cousin has the CS and I like it a lot, the display is really nice. I got the 87 and 93 performance, I run the 87 performance 90% of the time though. Some guys say they really can tell a difference between the 2 but I don't at all. I just stock with the canned 87 towing tune.

Thanks Trent! The Gryphon and CS are only like 50 bucks apart so i just need to decide which one i want.. I heard that the CS doesnt have all the PIDs that the original EDGE does? Like average MPG and stuff?

My tuning was VMP tunes, and there is a big difference between towing tune and performance tune. The towing tune with mine makes the transmission behave completely different. Even running WOT the torque converter locks up around 3500-4000RPM. It is weird, not bad but different. Daily driving with it was annoying because if I was accelerating hard as it was locking up, then let off, it wasn't quite sure what to do and wasn't real smooth. The canned tunes probably aren't quite like that.

I run the 93 octane performance tune pretty much all the time, I like it. You may want to call them and ask if they would change much for the 35" tires on a custom tune.

ill have to call them and see what they suggest. thanks guys! I was thinking about going with VMP and an XCAL3 as I wouldnt have to pay for the new tunes if i get a new CAI, etc. or atleast from what i can see..

Thanks again guys
