I put new tires on my 2006 F150 SuperCrew back in March of this year. I went in about 6 weeks ago to get them rotated and balanced. Since doing so, the truck has developed a bad vibration in what appears to be the rear tires, more specifically, the left rear. The vibration comes in around 55-56 mph, but goes away once I get above 60 mph. I have taken the truck back in about 4 times now, to have the tires checked, and each time, the balance is off again. One time, a weight had come off. The others, all weights still on, just off balance. Each time they have been rebalanced, the vibration will come back within 2-3 days. I even took it to a different tire shop, where the balance showed to be off again. This tire shop balanced the tires with weights applied to back side of rims only. This time, it took about 4 days for the vibration to come back. I replaced the rear shocks 3 days ago. The drive shaft is tight, with u-joints having been replaced less than a year ago. The truck has 133,000 miles on it. I purchased it new, so I know the history of the truck. I am about to pull out what hair I have left. Any suggestions?

 

Rather than re balancing, have the tires trued. Sounds like one tire is bad and might be lightly out of round.

Good shops should be able to true your tires. Call around where you live.

 

Ok..thanks for the info...the shop I bought the tires from replaced the rear ones yesterday...and so far, all is good..we will see
