94 trans issue

94 trans issue
'94 F150, 4.9 V6 5 speed manual, trans code M, close to 70K original miles.
Before I head for a trans shop, any ideas of why I am sometimes having a hard time getting into first gear at a stop? Clutch seems fine, shifts great once moving but if I take the truck out of gear waiting for a light I really have to push hard to get it back into gear.
