Hello, I was researching some electrical problems we have been having with our truck and came across this forum. I'm hoping someone can enlighten me as to what is going on?
It all started with the overhead temperature consule no longer working. Then the a.c. unit would stop working. If we kick under the passenger side dashboard the a.c. will start working again. That issue hasn't happened in awhile though. The latest issue is the radio. My husband installed a radio system called BOSS AUDIO BV9986BI Single-DIN 7 inch Motorized Touchscreen DVD Player Receiver, Bluetooth, Detachable Front Panel, Wireless Remote. He also installed a backup camera. Here's the issues with it: It started when we were on a long trip and my daughter had her phone hooked up to it to listen to her music. We turned off the radio. Later in the drive the radio and pop up touchscreen would all of a sudden turn on then turn off. It's gotten worse now. If you touch the volume, the volume level would go crazy and go up by itself. We can't touch the volume without having to reset the stereo system. Little by little as time has gone by, we have been experiencing issues with the dome light not wanting to turn off, the backup light on the top back of the cab not turning on. We can't afford to take our truck to the dealer to fix whatever is going on. We need help because this is our only vehicle and if it dies on us we'll be in big trouble. The mileage just hit 200,000. My husband has been good about doing tune ups and changing the oil, etc. He's done all the work on the truck.
