Sounds like a fluke. Good it was found now so it can be taken care of under warranty.

 

your right about that but I don't wanna jump to any conclusions yet. They haven't called. Who knows with Bartow Ford.

I imagine this will be a costly repair if warranty doesn't pick it up.

 

Just heard from the dealer and they have ordered the dash harness and expect it in tomorrow so I should be able to pick her up tomorrow.

Hopefully! This base model F-150 stinks.

 

You just got a Monday morning build truck.

 

kinda funny you say that... my build date was June 3rd 2011 which is a Friday so I was blaming it on a late day Friday build

 

That certainly is another day to avoid. I would take a Friday build over a Monday morning build...too many hung over, pissy people, not wanting to be at work, etc.

I don't know if late Friday afternoon is better though. People are more apt to "slap" on parts so they can go home.

 

Picked her up last night and it's fixed.

I spoke with the tech that worked on her and he said that I actually had two problems..but he thinks one caused the other...It's hard to tell.

He found the dash wiring harness was pinched where the dash bolts into the cab. Probably happened during assembly. He replaced it and then discovered the headlamps switch was shorted out so he replaced that and it was fixed.

He believes the pinched/shorted wires shorted out the switch.

So I have a new dash harness properly routed and a new switch... I'm happy!
