Default Squirrel ate through a wiring harness

Check engine light came on and I’m getting error code P044D - EGR sensor signal circuit - A damaged EGR sensor signal circuit can cause trouble to your engine system. Replace them immediately. Exhaust Gas - carefully inspect for any leaky areas around your exhaust gas. If you find one, replace or repair it immediately.

further inspection I found an animal, squirrel ate through the wire harness from main trunk to this sensor. Does anyone know can you just replace the connector wire from main trunk or is that not a connection point and have to replace the whole wire harness? I like to know what the issue is, what part is needed so I can gauge the potential cost before I take to the dealer.

I already installed a device under the hood from Amazon to stop future animal issues…
