over this weekend i replaced the busted brake line going to the rear axle and the master cylinder also did an oil change after i got everything together thinking i could drive it it started smoking like crazy so i now believe i got a blown head gasket

Hi Dan! Welcome to the F150-Forums. If the smoke coming from the exhaust pipe is white, then you probably have a blown head gasket and check the oil for glycol/water. If the smoke is blue or blackish do a compression test, which would indicated worn or damaged rings and or valves.
