Default hello every one my name is dan and im new here

hello every body im new here here i just brought my 1st truck a few weeks back and as i was doing some home work on it i came across this site so i signed up
i got me an 1987 f150 302 5.0 super cab from a buddy of mine for 400$ cash ..
as far as i know the rear upper shock mount is broke on one side the valve cover gaskets was blown and the brake line going to the rear axle was busted

two weeks ago me and my buddy ripped the motor apart and replaced the valve cover and the air intake gaskets i also sanded and painted it green

over this weekend i replaced the busted brake line going to the rear axle and the master cylinder also did an oil change after i got everything together thinking i could drive it it started smoking like crazy so i now believe i got a blown head gasket

Hi Dan! Welcome to the F150-Forums. If the smoke coming from the exhaust pipe is white, then you probably have a blown head gasket and check the oil for glycol/water. If the smoke is blue or blackish do a compression test, which would indicated worn or damaged rings and or valves.
